No, it wouldn't, since in theory it will only affect stuff
around line 1855 in cccp.c (and of course cpplib).  Maybe cpp
should accept -ansi the same way as gcc.c
 Rather than bickering, I'll submit a patch (and shut up until then). 
Unless you say beforehand it will not be accepted.
