You're quite right; continual porting means basic features have to be
tested again and again.  The problems vexing me are more about filling
in language conformance in the platform-independent part of gcc, hence
my bias.  Maybe I should just have said, if you organize the tests by
feature (and your ideas sound great), make sure the scheme accommodates
multi-feature tests as well.
