minor configure problem for FreeBSD ELF

Thanks.  A couple notes.

Please include ChangeLog entries when you submit patches.

Also remember, configure is a generated file.  You need to make sure to fix
configure.in for this kind of stuff in the future.

I've fixed those problems and installed the resulting changes.
