It's helpful to know that I'm not simply failing to find the right option to locate this capability in GCC,  and that there are no current plans.

BTW, just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the good work that you and the rest of the team contributing to GCC do.  It's a great tool, and you guys probably mostly just hear complaints about bugs etc. - so lemme make sure you also hear some kudos for the stellar work.
