I build crosscompiler for arm on windows. Compiler builded and run on windows and produce code for arm. GCC build takes several hours, binutils build near 10 mins on my pc. It normal that build takes so many time? My hardware - athlon IIx3 2.9GHz, 8 gb ram. I build gcc started 5.1 till 6.2. Always yours, Fiodar Stryzniou
