gcc fails to build since texinfo was upgraded to 5.0-1

Why 4.7.2 and not 4.7.3 (the current latest in the 4.7 branch)? I don't 
know if the texinfo changes have been backported to 4.7, but they 
certainly haven't been to pre-existing releases...

Did you try the obvious solution of installing an older texinfo?
