Compilation problem on 64bit OS

Hi,

I'm getting the following error when compiling a program on a 64bit
OS, I'm at a a loss as to what it can be I've tried looking it up but
to no avail, can someone please enlighten me with what is going on?

The error I have:

It's almost as though it is saying that one of the libraries needs to
be compiled as a 64 bit library when it already is:

file /usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/4.1.2/crtbeginT.o
/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/4.1.2/crtbeginT.o: ELF 64-bit LSB
relocatable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), not stripped

Any thoughts please.
