mpfr.h cannot be located while compiling GCC

yes i tried with also:
/configure --prefix=/pkg/gcc-4.4.1/
 --with-mpfr=/pkg/mpfr-2.4.1
 --with-gmp=/pkg/gmp-4.2.4

This page has something related to this i think ... but i'm not able
to get what they want to say .... they are talking about setting some
environment variables n all
