Compiling stdc++ with strong symbol versioning

So I configured gcc 4.3.2 with configure
-enable-symvers=gnu-versioned-namespaces and when I ran make after about
half an hour of building I got:
configure: error: Unknown argument to enable/disable symvers
make[1]: *** [configure-target-libgomp] Error 1
Any thoughts?
