gcc update from 4.1.2 to 4.4

Most people do get gcc from a binary distributor.  If you can't do that,
then you will need to built it yourself; see the instructions at
http://gcc.gnu.org/.  Of course, that assumes that you can access a web
site and download source code.  If you can't do that, I'm not sure we
can help you.
