how to subscribe to the gcj or gcc mailing list from gmail?

Go to this page:

http://gcc.gnu.org/lists.html

Correctly fill out the little web form in the Subscribing/unsubscribing 
section in the middle of the page.

Then answer the first message it mailing list system sends you.

gcj@gcc.gnu.org has had fairly low volume lately, so you may not get 
much mail on it.
