gcc 4.3.2 compilation failure on aix 5.3

I am using bash and top level configure script is fast without any
doubt. but this configure is run as part of gmake invocation at stage
3. It takes around 5-6 hours on my setup to complete libstd++v3
configuration , for some reason. Other parts are running just fine.
(Though my machine has just 1 g ram it should still be fine i
suppose).
