I have no idea.  It's been a long time since I used any unfree software.

By the way, Ian's suggestion to file a bug is good, but if you want to help
get gcc fixed in time for the 4.4 release, *please* carry on with these fixes.
I'll check them and push them to mainline, but it's all in your hands.
