far (48bit) pointer addressing

Hi gcc team,
 
does gcc (for i386 targets) support "far pointer addressing" ?
or is it planned to be added ?
Currently i only found this in the openWatcom compiler.
What i'm thinking of is for example a keyword "far" which makes the declared
object be accessed using an IA32 48 bit far pointer consisting of 16 bit selector
and 32 bit offset. I know that one has to prepare an appropriate descriptor in the
GDT or LDT to make this addressing work.
