building gcc-4.2.2 on IRIX6.5 SGI

Hi!

While make bootstrap-lean on my IRIX6.5 SGI (Octane 2) I received the 
follwing error message

test -f config.h || (rm -f stamp-h1 && make stamp-h1)
Unmatched closing curly braces or parenthesis in line containing 
$(CC) -c $(CPPFLAGS) $(CFLAGS) $(DEFS) $(DEF-$@) $(INCLUDES)

How do I fix that error? 
Is that line in config.h file? If so, I could not find any similar 
lines in the file.
