Installing gcc - newbie question

Hi Steve,

Is your goal building your own GCC?

Or is your goal to get a working GCC on your system?

If the second, you should be able to install the pre-built GCC that comes
with Novell/SuSE 10.2.

If the first, you need to install the pre-built GCC that comes with
Novell/SuSE 10.2 first (and also all the other prerequisites for GCC, such
as GNU make, and GNU binutils, et cetera), and then go through the configure
steps and build steps.
