gcc -fprofile-arcs -ftest-coverage help

I am using  gcc -fprofile-arcs -ftest-coverage  to compile my test program, I
need to generate .da and .bb, .bbg files.
But when I ran the program it generates .gcda file. How do I get these files
generated? Can anybody help me on this.
