Adding GCC support to a new 8 bit micro from Lattice

Hello,

Lattice has a new soft 8-bit microcontroller that only has assembly 
language support.  I wanted to see how to support it with GCC.  It seems 
that an ELF binary file is necessary to support the instruction set of a 
microcontroller.  Are there manuals and utilities on how to generate an 
ELF file.  Any recommendations on adding C support to this Micro from 
Lattice will be welcomed.
