enable __mt_alloc?

Hi,

How do I enable the use of the __mt_alloc-allocator instead of the default one?

I've searched google without any success more than internal documentation on mt_alloc.

Using: gcc version 3.4.3 20041212 (Red Hat 3.4.3-9.EL4)
