Problem with Configure

I'm trying to run configure for the second time to change my install of 
gcc.  When I ran it the first time it ran fine and created my install 
configuration.  I now want to make some changes to my install.  However, 
the configure terminates my terminal window.  I piped the output to a 
file and it is requesting a host. 

How can I run configure multipe times to have the correct installation 
before installing gcc?
