Help! A C++ compiling error!

That is a very old version--the current version is 3.4.1.  Moreover
there was no official gcc release with the version number 2.96--there
was 2.95, but no 2.96, so we can not know what your actual compiler
sources look like.  I recommend that you contact Wind River for help
with this.
