Can I compile linux binaries on FreeBSD or cygwin?

Hello,

I have a FreeBSD 4.8 box, a cygwin machine, and a hosting with linux. I 
can run binaries on the hosting, but I cannot compile them there. Can I 
use my FreeBSD or Cygwin machine to compile binaries that will run on 
linux?
