turning off the "missing braces around initializer"

Hi,

I didn't get a response from this list, but I have now found the answer to 
my question: there is an compiler option to turn off this check, which is 
simply "-Wno-missing-braces", and "-Wmissing-braces" turns the check on. I 
pass this on in the hope that it may be useful to others.
