Renaming a symbol within a library

Hi all,

Here's my problem : I have a library ( say libA.a ) which contains a symbol 
definition ( say `myfunc' ), and I want to rename the definition of `myfunc' 
in `myfuncA', that is I want `myfunc' to be an undefined symbol, and I want 
`myfuncA' to hold the definition of `myfunc'. I have tried unsuccessfully to 
fiddle with --defsym and -u.
