How to Install GCC on Digital Unix

gcc binaries, (you need a compiler to compile gcc sources) are linked
    from here: http://gcc.gnu.org/install/binaries.html

2.8.1 is very, very old. If you can any way use a newer gcc, I
    strongly reccomend you do so. Some old versions are linked from
    here: http://gcc.gnu.org/releases.html
    but 2.8.1 is not amoung them. I do not know where to find it.
