Hi, I've gotten curious about VIS instructions, on sparc. Anyway, gcc has an option -mvis, which allows gcc to use VIS. With this option is gcc limited to only using scalar instructions from this set? Has anyone done any work to allow the altivec vector functions to be translated into vis instructions? James A.
