Problems with Gcc-2.95.2 on Solaris 2.7

I am attempting to build the Apache 1.3.27 software on a Sun Ultra-60, 
Solaris 2.7 server (with NO Patches applied to my knowledge), and have 
encountered the Fatal Relocation Error as follows:

# /usr/local/apache.new/bin/apachectl start
Syntax error on line 205 of /usr/local/apache.new/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /usr/local/apache.new/libexec/mod_mmap_static.so into 
server: ld.so.1: /usr/local/apache.new/bin/httpd: fatal: relocation 
error: file /usr/local/apache.new/libexec/mod_mmap_static.so: symbol 
ap_null_cleanup: referenced symbol not found
/usr/local/apache.new/bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started

I can successfully compile, and I am using the LD_LIBRARY_PATH set as 
follows:

/usr/openwin/lib:/usr/openwin/platform/sun4u/server/lib:/usr/openwin/server/lib:/usr/share/lib:/usr/platform/sun4u/lib:/usr/platform/sun4d/lib:/usr/lib:/usr/lib/help/lib:/usr/dt/lib:/usr/ccs/lib:/usr/xpg4/lib:/usr/proc/lib:/usr/snadm/lib:/usr/java1.1/lib:/usr/vmsys/lib:/usr/java1.2/jre/lib:/usr/java1.2/lib:/usr/local/lib:/usr/local/sparc-sun-solaris2.7/lib:/usr/local/Perl/lib:/usr/local/bind/lib:/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.3.3/lib:/usr/local/ssl/lib

While I have seen a few entries on the web on this issue, none have 
resolved this issue.

Has anyone seen this?  Is this a request by gcc to download the Latest 
Consolidated Patches? Any ideas?
