heap initialisation for malloc

Hi all,

when using malloc, my code crashes.
Because malloc is part of a library, I cannot debug the source.
I think the problem has to do with heap-initialisation.
Therefor, how can the heap be initialised, such as:
heapbase, heapsize...
What must be added to the linker script?
I'm using arm-elf tools.
