Installing gcc on HP-UX 11

Hi,
	This isn't directly related to gcc but I'm having issues installing
it on my HP-UX 11 m/c.  
	After downloading the binaries from
http://h21007.www2.hp.com/dspp/tech/tech_TechSoftwareDetailPage_IDX/1,1703,5
47,00.html if I try to install it by saying
swinstall -s /gcc-3.2-11.00.depot gcc
	I get an error saying...
	"Could not contact host "<hostname>".  Make sure the hostname is
correct and an absolute pathname is specified (beginning with "/").
	Target connection failed for "<hostname>:/".

	Now, I've checked my /etc/hosts file and there's an entry for my
hostname with the correct IP address.  What else could be wrong here?  Do I
need to do something else?
