ppc-linux cross compiler

Hi !

 has anybody built gcc-3.1 on X86 for ppc-linux ?

 ./configure --target=ppc-linux --host=i386-linux --prefix=/opt/ppc-devel/

 runs through ok

 make bootstrap

 fails with an error that it can't find singal.h - which is there in the default
 include path. are there any notes on cross-compiler build for gcc-3.1 ? the
 Cross-compiling howto sems not to be up to date.
