Solaris DDI/DKI

I have a simple Solaris device driver source which compiles
ok with both gcc and the Sun compiler. At runtime, the
object produced by gcc complains about an unresolved
reference to 'memset'. Comparing the symbol tables of
the Sun and gcc produced objects reveals 'memset' to
be the only difference.
Do I have to provide my own 'memset' routine?
Any ideas/tips/tricks for compiling DDI/DKI source with
gcc? Should I even bother?
I'm using gcc 2.95.2 on Solaris 2.8/Intel
Thanks
