symbol table

I think that you are asking for nm.  Start with 'man nm' to learn how to gather this type of information from compiled *binaries*.  nm is part of binutils.

is there a way to dump all the variables names, file, line and type from a
set of source files compiled with gcc ?
I have been reading the gcc manual but i can´t find a way. Someone told me
that the symol table has this infromation but how can i get it the way i
want it ?
