Makeinfo problem

i'm trying to build gcc 303 on a hpux 10.20 since 2.95 was made without
using the gnu binutils and some programs are complaining aobut the lack of
the gnu assembler.
i installed the latest gmake and gnu binutils in that order without a hitch
just to minimize the risk of problems, building the make using the "./build
sh" command since the native make is hpux (which gnu replaced) now with the
compiler i ran the ../gcc-3.0.3/configure command from the object directory
and got the following warnings:

configure: warning:
*** Makeinfo is missing or too old.
*** Info documentation will not be built.
configure: warning: No program for building catalogs found -> building
disabled
Links are now set up to build a native compiler for hppa2.0-hp-hpux10.20

i'm wondering how to get the info docummentation to be made. there is no
Makeinfo file and i don't kjnow where that would be generated from.
