Instalation of gcc on windows 2000?

Mybe this is getting off-topic (and unnecessary...), however:

Under Win 95/98 you can run, either fomr command line or from the "Run..." 
windows
   edit c:\autoexec.bat
and add in there the PATH taht you need.

Under Win 2K, environment variables are set in the control panel.
Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Environment
