Hi,

for gcc version 2.95.3 and GNU ld version 2.11.92.0.10 2, what is

1. the longest name that can be used,
2. the longest external name that can be used,
3. the characters that can be used in names.

Neither browsing, starting at gcc.gnu.org, nor using goggle I found an 
answer to these questions, eg. not where I exspected it, in 
http://www.gnu.org/manual/ld-2.9.1/html_chapter/ld_toc.html . I'm sure 
it's documented somewhere, but where? I like RTFMing,

please point me to TFM so I can R it.
