G++ - Xrecex,Xalan Problem

Hello,

I downloaded Xalan C++ Version 1.3. When running the examples they work fine.

Then I tried an own example. I work with G++ Version 2.9.

When I compile and link with the following command line:
	g++ xml1.cc  -L/ -lxalan-c1_3 -lxerces-c1_6_0 

I get a lot of these errors:

	ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: .XMLPlatformUtils::Initialize(void)
	ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: .XPathEvaluator::initialize(void)    
	   ....  etc.    

Can anyone help me with this problem.

P.S. I'm a very new G++ ( and also C++) developer.
