gcc for AIX that supports exceptions across shared objects

We have discovered that the version of gcc we use on AIX doesnt support
throw/catch of exceptions across shared object boundaries.  Is there a
version of gcc that does support it?  I can find references to the problem
in bug lists so I know which versions dont support it.  But I cannot find
a reference to which versions do.
