hi,

what is the relationship between the gcc/g++ version and the actual
supported  c++ language version?

that is, is gcc/g++ version 2.95.x an implementation of c++ language
specification 2.95.x or is the gnu gcc/g++ version independent of any
#iso# c++ specification as it were?

to put it another way... is the gcc/g++ version number one to one with
some _iso_ c++ specification or is it an arbitrary revision number?
