gcc 2.95.3 basic_string::Rep::operator delete unresolved

I have a linux to power pc cross-compiler with gcc.2.95.3 and
David Korn's patches.  The generated code has the following
undefined symbol:

basic_string<char, string_char_traits<char>, __default_alloc_template
<true, 0> >::Rep::operator delete(void *)

Any ideas how to fix this?
