gcc-3.0 compiling problem on linux with older libc

Well, I have also bootable versions of 2.2.18, 2.0.39 and even 1.2.13
;-) on my box.

As I pointed out in my last email this seems to be not a problem of the
combination (kernel-<some-version>, libc-5) but solely a problem of
libc-5. 

Does it bother the GCC developers that they lost now libc-5 support?

I don't have any problems with libc-5, even _all_ threaded programs I
tried so far like xmms do work smoothly. Most software on my box ist
probably more up to date as redhat-7.1 ;-)

No, even if this seems to imply right now that I'am stuck with
gcc-2.95.3 forever ;-(
