adding code in epilogue

[B Scout]

hi,
I'm using gcc-3.0 on an i386 machine.  I'd like to add
a call in the epilogue of each function to record some
information.  I know on older verions there was a
function ix86_epilogue in i386.c, but I can't find
that function in the 3.0 version.  Where should i put
this?  Also I don't understand much about rtl. does
anyone know of any good books on the subject?
