Need help

Hi!
I've installed gcc on my computer and i can't get my c++   programms gompiled.
The source file is called "test.cpp". What command line(s) should i give on the bash in oder to have an executable programm? I've tried gcc  test.cpp   and gcc -c  test.cpp and other possibilities whithout succes.
