Missing wstring in gcc 3.0.2 (g++) on Solaris 8 (and 6)

Try again, maybe this is the right place? Can you help me with this
question? Hopefully I've gotten the html out of this and it is now solely
text.

Thanks,

Well, I have seen the report from loewis@informatik.hu-berlin.de
concerning the un-availability of
std::wstring in libstdc++-v3 for Solaris 8. For my application, I really
need wide strings. Are there any available fixes or work-arounds for this
yet? I picked up gcc 3.0.2 but my amateurish attempts to access wstring
have failed. Would using CVS to access the weekly snapshots help me out?
(course, I'd have to install CVS, then remember what I once knew about using
it....)

Thanks much,
