BSDI 4.2 & GCC 3.0

I'm not sure which binutils is installed. Its whatever
BSDI comes with. I tried compiling 2.11 from
ftp.gnu.org but THAT is crapping out on me too
::flail::

I'm not sure I understand the second part of your
