C compiler !

Dear Sir or Madam,

When I install perl-5.6.0 on my system (Sun Solaris
2.6), the installer let me choose this option:
 Which C compiler [cc]?
 if I enter cc, the installer show this error:
"language optional software package not installed"
 if I enter gcc, the installer successful done.

 I had installed gcc-2.95.2 on my system. I think my
system missing some package C compiler or gcc-2.95.2
not configure correctly.

 Please send email to guide me how can I resolve this
problem.
