Questions on ncurses

Hi:

I downloaded and started to build ncurses 5.1.  The configure and make steps
went just fine.  Before installing, I went to the test directory and
attempted to run the test programs there.  I keep receiving the following
error message when I do:

   Error opening terminal: vt100

I also get the same thing if I physically go to the machine, but this time
it refers to dtterm instead of vt100.  Am I missing something simple here?
