Cross-compiler for m68k on OSF

Hi,

I would like to build a cross compiler for a target m68k-wrs-vxworks on a 
alpha host station running OSF 4.0d, but I did'nt succeed.
I compiled and installed the binutils 2.9 without problems, but when I 
wanted to build gcc, I got the following error :

/home/douet/m68k/m68k-wrs-vxworks/bin/as -mc68020 -o libgcc1.o

xgcc: Internal compiler error: program as got fatal signal 11

Do you have an idea, what's wrong?
