gcc 2.95.2 compile problem on Digital Unix 5.0

I tried compiling the gcc 2.95.2 on Compaq TruUnix 
64 (Digital Unix 5.0) and I get the following error:
 
ld: Unresolved: ASM_FILE_START *** Exit 
1 Stop. *** Exit 1 Stop. *** Exit 1 Stop.
 
what is wrong???
