gcc-2.95.1 on DEC Alpha?

I'm trying to compile gcc-2.95.1 on a DEC alpha running Digital Unix
4.0D.  When I run make bootstrap, it generates the stage 1 compiler with
no problems.  However, when it tries to compile the standard C++
library, it errors out.  There are duplicate definitions of struct
exception in /usr/include/math.h and in a gcc include file.

Has anyone else run into this problem?  And even better - has anyone
else already resolved it?
