Could you arrange that build stops in <hardware arch>/libgcc? And then check
with 'make -p' and 'make -d' from the clean directory what their log output is?

As I wrote in the attachment My-inappropriate-content the target unwind-dw2_s.o
is missing three symlinks. Could be on x86_64 this target does not exist, then
everything would be fine.
